How do I activate my card?

There are three ways to activate your new debit card:

  • Call 1.866.823.0700
  • Use your new debit card with your current PIN to make a purchase or at any BCB Community Bank ATM.
  • Sign in to Online Banking or Mobile Banking

Newly issued cards will be EMV chip enabled cards.

Why are chip cards more secure?
  • The chip generates a unique, one-time code each time you dip your card at a chip-enabled terminal. Your purchase can only be approved with the chip-generated code.
  • The chip in your card is virtually impossible to duplicate. That means attempts by the fraudster to create and use counterfeit cards will be much harder.
How do I use it?
  • Insert your card into the chip-enabled terminal with the chip first, facing up.
  • Leave the card in the terminal until the transaction is complete. You may be prompted to sign your name.
  • If there isn’t a chip-enabled terminal, use the card the traditional way and swipe.
Enhanced Convenience:
You can now report a lost or stolen Debit Card by:
    • calling our Phone Banking toll free number (1.866.823.0700)
    • calling the 24-hour number (1.866.546.8273)
    • and/or by using Online Banking and/or your Mobile App.
  • Changing your PIN is easy. You can now do so via Phone Banking as well as at our ATMs.
Misplaced your Debit Card?
With BCB's Mobile App, you can suspend or cancel your card in case of lost or theft within seconds. This feature allows you to control the status of your card in such situations. 
HOW TO USE THE “SUSPEND” CARD FEATURE:
  Open your BCB Mobile App
  Go to the three line menu icon in the top left corner 
  Go to preferences
  Manage Cards
  To suspend, click active --> suspend --> suspend again
  It should say your card is now suspended
 
To reactivate: 
  Open your BCB Mobile App
  Go to the three line menu icon in the top left corner 
  Go to preferences
  Manage Cards
  To activate, click suspend --> activate --> activate again
  It should say your card is now active

It is important not to click REPORT when suspending your card.
Please note that reporting a card lost or stolen CANNOT be undone. 
If you are unsure, simply use the “suspend” option until you are sure!
